Elytra Availability and Economy Balance - Add Elytra to Emperor Kit
in Suggestions1 post4
The Problem
As anyone who plays Survival knows, the End Resource world is typically stripped of nearly every Elytra within the first 10 minutes of a reset. With the world limited to approximately 5k × 5k blocks, players who already have /fly or an Elytra can reach End Cities long before newer players have a realistic opportunity.
This creates a significant disadvantage for newer players, particularly those who do not have access to flight or the resources needed to purchase an Elytra.
The Economic Impact
The scarcity of Elytras has created a heavily inflated market on Survival.
Currently, Elytras are selling for approximately 2–3 lemons, with lemons valued at around $2 billion each. That places the effective cost of an Elytra at $4–6 billion.
Even selling Elytras at $3 billion, well below the typical market price, I cannot come close to keeping them in stock. The demand is simply far greater than the available supply.
In my opinion, an Elytra should realistically cost no more than $100 million for the average player. On a reasonably balanced economy, that would represent an achievable goal after approximately two weeks of regular gameplay.
Instead, newer players face prices that are 30–60 times higher than that target.
Proposed Solution: Add Elytra to the Emperor Kit
I suggest adding one Elytra to the Emperor Kit, available through its normal kit cooldown.
There are already numerous Emperor-ranked players on Survival. Giving these players a renewable source of Elytras would introduce additional supply into the economy without making Elytras completely free or removing the incentive to explore the End.
More importantly, it would give established players the opportunity to support newer players by selling Elytras for $100 million or less, rather than the billions currently being charged.
Benefits to Survival
Improved accessibility: Newer players would have a realistic opportunity to obtain an Elytra without already needing flight to compete for one.
Reduced inflation: A consistent supply would help bring Elytra prices back toward an affordable range.
Community support: Emperor-ranked players could help newer players progress through Survival.
Preserved progression: Elytras would still have value, and players could continue obtaining them through End exploration.
Long-term sustainability: The economy would no longer depend almost entirely on a small supply of Elytras collected immediately after each End Resource reset.
Final Thoughts
I am not suggesting that Elytras should become worthless or that exploring the End should lose its purpose. I am suggesting that an item as important to Survival progression as the Elytra should not be effectively inaccessible to players simply because they do not already have one.
The current system disproportionately benefits players who already have access to flight, allowing them to collect a limited resource before others have a reasonable chance.
Adding Elytras to the Emperor Kit would help address the supply problem, improve accessibility, and give established players another meaningful way to support the Survival community.
I believe this would be a positive change for LemonCloud Survival as a whole.
