Survival's 1.18 Reset

Greetings LemonCloud!

It's time for us to reveal the next big update for Survival. Get ready for 1.18!

On Saturday 15th January, Survival 1 and Survival 2 will reset, bringing a massive list of improvements to the server. We expect to release this update at 8 PM GMT (to prepare, we'll shut down the old servers earlier in the day). Click here to see what time it is in your time zone. The countdown is on!

Reset Details

Unfortunately, when the reset happens, you will lose most of your progress: in-game money, mcMMO levels, inventory, enderchest, vaults, homes, builds, player warps, etc.

Don't worry; you will keep: ranks, titles, claim blocks, and any other permanent access packages you've bought from the store.

Changelog

When planning this reset, we decided that our goal was to bring back the Survival element to our Survival server. We've realized, and I'm sure many of you will agree, that our Survival server isn't really about surviving. This update makes some drastic changes to the server to fix that.

Updated to 1.18

This reset brings Survival up to the latest version of Minecraft so you can experience the new Caves and Cliffs Part II update on LemonCloud!

We've freshly generated 30,000 x 30,000 block maps using the latest 1.18 world generation. These new worlds include new mountain biomes and cave exploration down to layer -64!

New Spawn

The LemonCloud architects created a beautiful new spawn island for this update!

Survival's Spawn Island

This new spawn will be your hub for Survival, featuring market stalls, merchants, the quest master, enchantment facilities, and it's an excellent meeting location for trade with other players!

Economy

To bring an element of actual survival to the server, we've made significant changes to the server economy.

Shop Changes

The first significant change is removing the shop as you know it. We're introducing a player-driven economy where you can no longer open up the shop and buy anything you need; you now need to adventure out, gather resources and trade with other players in the Auction House.

There will now be Merchants at spawn to whom you can sell certain items for money. You'll find three different merchants who buy your Blocks, Mob Drops and Farming related items.

Rank Kits

The second significant change we're making to the economy is removing all kits from ranks. The problem with kits is that it takes away the gameplay of grinding XP, enchanting and creating your own set of armour and tools because you get given a fresh new set every day. Even if you're an unranked player, the number of kit sets that enter the economy means they're easy to come across. We considered the possibility of increasing the cooldown but concluded that it's best not to have the kits at all. We know this is a drastic change, but this is a positive change in improving Survival's gameplay.

Crates & Key Drops

We've adjusted the prizes for all crates to suit the new economy. Most notably, changing the in-game cash and spawner rewards.

Key Drops are also now limited to a maximum of 1 per IP address to prevent people from having an unfair advantage by mass farming the key drops.

Enchanter

Another new arrival is the Enchanter merchant at spawn! They will sell you unobtainable enchantment books (such as Fortune IV) in exchange for your hard-earned XP points!

Resources World

Since you can no longer buy blocks and items from the server, we're introducing a new world that you can travel to; the Resources world!

The Resources world will be similar to the main world but should only be used to harvest its resources. We will sometimes reset this world when it needs refreshing.

It's the perfect place to mine and gather blocks without destroying the natural beauty of the main world!

Market Stalls

To enhance Survival's new player-driven economy, we're adding a brand new Market Stalls feature!

Simply put, players can bid in auctions to rent a Market Stall at spawn for a set duration (i.e. 24 hours)

A Large Market Stall

Market Stalls are a public place for creating player chest shops at spawn - and a great way to promote your shop to other players on the server!

Keep an eye on the chat to see when a Market Stall auction happens.

Vote Shop

Every vote now grants you a token that you can save up to spend in the new Vote Shop!

Vote Shop Menu

Vote for us daily for up to 5 tokens a day. Type /voteshop to browse all the items on offer.

Quests

It's time for Quests! As featured on our Skyblock server, we're bringing Quests to Survival with the following types:

Basic Quests

These are simple starter quests to guide new players into the server. They include tasks for exploration, mining, building, and more.

Advanced Quests

We've designed a bunch of advanced questlines which entail a bunch of quests within them:

  • Fishmonger - fishing themed quests (such as catching certain fish types)
  • Butcher - animal-themed quests (such as breeding, taming, and sadly killing mobs)
  • Gardener - plant themed quests (such as collecting flowers)
  • Farmer - farming themed quests (such as harvesting crops)
  • Adventurer - exploration themed quests (such as finding mobs, travelling the world, mining, and building)

Type /quests to view your quest progress!

Miscellaneous Changes

  • Removed mcMMO. We held internal discussions about the impact of mcMMO skills on the survival element of the server and decided to remove mcMMO for a complete survival feel.
  • Fixed fishing
  • Added a new Guide Booklet for new players
  • Increased the number of claim blocks you can purchase on the store, with packages now up to 100,000
  • Updated the look of money notes and experience bottles
  • Added restrictions to stop Redstone clocks
  • Modified the rank note on-purchase rewards to suit the new economy
  • Added a new menu that comes up when typing /help
  • Made some changes to the Starter kit
  • Changed the vote rewards to fit the new economy
  • Added a Cosmetic Crate
  • Dozens of bug fixes

Conclusion

Finally, we'd like to address a situation where players recently purchased a Christmas-themed crate on Survival and discovered that the server is resetting shortly after. We want to apologize for this by gifting a Starter Bundle to anybody who purchased the Christmas crate on Survival. Please email our purchase support team to claim your bundle.

We're excited for this new beginning of LemonCloud Survival and can't wait to welcome you back on Saturday for the resets of Survival 1 and Survival 2!
