Change pvp

Last few seasons pvp has been really boring. Barely any players do pvp in the arena and there is barely any competition for koth. Players have to grind a whole lot to get a big pvp advantage, these advantages are: mcmmo, custom enchants and monthly gear. Some players just like to pvp for fun or could compete for events like koth but can't because they don't wanna spend days grinding for only pvp purposes on a skyblock server. There are some more changes I'm going to suggest below these.
I feel like custom enchants are the biggest problem. I would like to see more CEs for skyblock itself and a lot less to almost none for pvp or at least a reduction in how useful they actually are. For example, overload 3 gives u 6 extra hearts. I personally think that is just too many. Changing this to a single level enchant with an extra 2 hearts might be something more balanced.
Although I would prefer no more pvp CEs so everyone can enjoy pvp.
I feel like mcmmo is a smaller issue since it's pretty easy to grind but it still makes a big difference, I would love to hear other players' suggestions on how to change (or not to change) this part.
Last are the enchants of monthly gear. It's just fair to get an advantage by getting monthly gear. But a gap between regular protection IV and protection VII is just too big for every player to enjoy pvp. I would suggest making the ranked kits go to protection IV and making the monthly gear protection V.
Same goes for the sword enchants. I would suggest giving ranked kits sharpness 5 and monthly swords Sharpness 6 with other enchants like looting and fire aspect untouched as they still play a big role in the skyblock grind.
Bows should be power V on regular bows and power 6 (not 7) on monthly bows.
For all other tools like pickaxe, axe, shovel and hoe I would suggest keeping the enchants.
This way having monthly gear is still worth the purchase but it decreases the gap between ranked kits and monthly items for pvp purposes.
What I suggested before was an armor kit/pvp kit in legendary crate keys. a non-cosmetic, breakable kit with matching enchants as the monthly crate armor. This could also reduce this gap.
Some other suggestions on problems we have experienced with these last few seasons would be changing the pvp arena to adventure mode. With this players would not be able to temporarily place blocks to glitch their way up into unreachable spots (and yes "unreachable" is vague because of enchants like springs III).
Another suggestion would be making the pvp arena more flat and reducing these unreachable spots.
Ender pearls should be disabled or at least when combat tagged.
The drop into the arena should be changed in a way players can't drop down on you with a mace and 1 hit others. A few block drops from the side or the arena would help or entering the arena with water elevators.
With these changes I believe more players would try to compete for koth and we would actually have a more active (and fun) pvp arena.
I agree that it needs to be looked at to try and make it more enticing to everyone. However I’m not in agreement with all things. For example monthly armour, I feel that these need to have an above vanilla level of enchantments. If they were prot 5 someone would just make netherite armour the same. Not only does this then make the grind people had to get monthly armour worthless, it would also reduce some sales and people wanting to get monthlies.
The custom enchants could be looked at though I agree. Some fights I have (both max sets) can last minutes with potions and gaps if the ce’s don’t keep hitting, which is fun. But then sometimes I’ll fight the same people and either I or they will be dead in 5 hits when all ce’s suddenly hit together and you do 6 heart hits. The way they hit need to be looked at, but although it would be good to knock some of these down or remove some, these are things everyone has access to. And to be honest, you can pick up a sword and armour pieces for pretty cheap with a bit of grinding on /ah. It could also be fun though to add a lot more enchants and/or lower the limit of enchants you can apply to items. This would create more variation between peoples sets. Although some could be lowered I think some should be left, like overload. I get the thought of 6 hearts is too much but that can be one crit with ce’s from a monthly, only a couple hits from a good netherite sword. And unless your quite lucky, it takes a fair bit of grinding xp and tinkering, which is even harder now, so I’d say you’ve earned some op enchants
E-pearls and maces, yeah people have been saying that for ages
I think mcmmo is pretty good as is, could maybe bump max levels to 1500. But you could also add selectable abilities. Currently we only get serrated strikes on swords in PvP. You could add a command to set your ability, once unlocked to something else and have a selection of maybe 5 different but well balanced abilities. This could also reintroduce a grinding aspect where instead of levelling ability with sword level. Even if you hit max swords mcmmo. Once you equip a different ability, you can still level that ability up.

I do believe monthly armor should be better in terms of enchtants, that's why I asked for protection V as protection IV is max vanilla level, crafting protection V should be impossible.
I do believe some of those CEs should just be removed and with that overload should be lowered too, pvp should not be about luck in CEs hitting or not and it should also not be exclusive only to players who grinded for or bought monthly armor.
Ahh my mistake with protection, yeah that makes sense then, but with enchants, the way they hit as I say, I think needs to be looked at, some hits doing 1 heart, some doing 6. But the enchants themselves I think they have to be good, otherwise the rarity of enchants would be pointless. And with the xp grind with the new changes, if kept, it’ll be much more of a grind for a good set in seasons to come
That does describe the problem im trying to point out. The grind is too long and gives a big benefit. This does sound logic to make the grind worth it and all but this eliminates newer players (of who some can actually do some pvp) to enter the arena and try going for koth, wich eventually leads to the same players getting koth all season as there is no competition for it.
The issue I have with enchants changing is that the damage to mobs is also then reduced. If sharpness goes down, protection has to go down to accommodate it.
If we are lowered to sharpness/prot 5, then the gap between level 4 and 5 is not big enough to warrant monthly armour in my opinion. Why would anyone spend upwards of 100 lemons just for a set that is cosmetic and marginally better? If I know I am good enough at PvP then there is 0 chance I would spend so much on essentially a cosmetic set.
Other than that, I agree with changes to CE's, they need a major overhaul, they're extremely outdated and looked over.
Maces need nerfing.
The arena needs some serious work, its quite frankly, awful. Please get a proper builder, with an inkling of a clue, to build a PvP arena.
